This one have something to say, here is her story.She read a book in the 1970s called Cocky’s Castle, which won the Australian Children’s Book Prize in 1966. Her mother gave it to her to read, they were always looking for books; she was voracious. In a fit of nostalgia, she bought a second-hand copy for her daughter. Hoping to inspire her to read, she read it before bestowing it on her child. As she read it, she realised every theme in this little precious book informed her adult passions. Waratahs, renovating, wrought-iron lace, Australian bush, and art.
